You can get to know our team members and their respective taxidermy super-powers below. Or, skip that noise and go straight to the merch dept. to rock our latest logo gear.
Entrepreneur J.D. Powe leads the Taxidermy Auction team and is largely responsible for enabling the rest of the crew to live their best taxidermy lives. Over the past 15 years, J.D. has accumulated a world-renown collection of historically significant taxidermy by 19th century masters of the craft and has curated museum and art gallery exhibits on the scientific and social aspects of Victorian taxidermy preservation and the psychology of collecting.
Taxidermist and animal lover of the both live and dead. Kelly collects and has been heavily enabled by J.D. to see how many taxidermy pieces she can fit in her home. She manages clients but also finds some of the star pieces sold on the auction. As well as dealing with the dead, she cares for the farm animals that live on the taxidermy auction farm. Including: horses, donkeys, pheasants, and even a livestock dog!
Jack-of-all-trades Kevin Kansky manages warehouse operations. If your taxidermy auction package arrives damaged, it's probably Kevin's fault. Mostly likely, he was drunk when he packed it, doing his customary mediocre job and "phoning it in." It's unfortunate because if he paid as much attention to shipping and packing as he does to trying to find new and creatives ways to manipulate Trish into getting back together, more items would wind up being shipped to the correct place.
Since 2018, we’ve established ourselves as the leading weekly live auction specializing in taxidermy and natural history specimens. Our unique format fosters both commerce and community, which leads to a more informed audience, better prices for unique consignment items, and a better overall experience for both buyers and sellers.
Most companies specializing in taxidermy hold auctions only 2-3 times per year. Our auction is unique in the frequency and volume of specimens offered.
To make our auction accessible to all types of buyers, we charge a lower-than average buyers' premium of 10% vs. the standard 25%-35%.
We professionally pack all auction items and ship via UPS at volume-based discount rates. Larger items can be shipped via fully insured courier service.
Most auction companies don't offer shipping, let alone professional restorations and certified appraisals that can stand up to rigorous IRS compliance standards.
We know collectors and consignors often have many questions and we do our best to answer them within a reasonable timeframe. Whether you need to adjust an order or delivery details, identify a specimen you found at a flea market, explore options for restoring a damaged piece, or discuss a payment plan, we're ready to help!
